The only characteristic of a remix is that it appropriates and changes other materials to create something new. So, essentially as long as sample is in it, chopped or altered, we are good.

“A Special Way” was made as an Ode to that feeling. The feeling you get when you hear that perfect beat on the train Theming your travels , that nostalgic smell that brings you back to a place you forgot you’ve been longing to remember. I aspire to create a connection between the beats and life and all the feels in between.

I found a lot of inspiration in listening to spiritual jazz and neo-soul. Of course, always heavy in my rotation J-Dilla, Strange Fruit Project & D’Angelo , J-Rawls ++

This tape was a part of growth for me, and my beats. The vibey swing, lush Rhodes sound or that sweet Groove that just hits right. Creating a setting with a loop, vibes.

Some tools used were Reason , Roland Sp-404 & Micro-Korg ( Mainly for bass ) for a couple tracks. A lot of samples that put me in my feels or remind me of home, which is New York City. Shout out Acorn Tapes for the work they do. PEACE.
